This community will offer homes that range from small studio flats to medium-sized duplexes to grand 5-bedroom townhomes that welcome different price points, needs and lifestyles. The look and feel of the homes are what we call contextual modern, scaled and proportioned to fit but exhibit twists and tweaks of vernacular tectonics. They'll show off of materials like tough steel, exposed rafters, site-sawn oak siding, stucco and brick.
Orienting along Flat Shoals Avenue, the idea behind the studio units and their two story porch came from the history of this area. Beginning well before the turn of the century, Flat Shoals served as a main thoroughfare, complete with a trolley that ran from Five Points to Decatur. This bustling avenue welcomed small businesses and commercial establishments up and down its path.
We wanted to reintroduce that concept on the ground floor of this street-facing building, with several suites that offer storefront commercial space. These spaces provide opportunity for small businesses to open up shop and invite people in, creating a flow of commerce and conversation. Before long we will have the refreshed Trolley Line Trail bike path right out our front door.
In addition to 14 studio units, nine townhomes and a duplex, Mattie Branch will contain two distinct gathering spaces: a private kidney-shaped yard surrounded by shady oak trees, benches and a community mailbox, as well as a street-facing space on the very corner with spots to sit, relax or greet your neighbor.

This spot is not only an easy stroll to the BeltLine, but its location boasts: a myriad of stellar dining and entertainment choices, even groceries, always burgeoning Memorial Drive, as well as robust transportation options. Mattie Branch residents will have time and bandwidth to enjoy the fruits of their community.
Mattie Hamil Faith, who was known as "Mother Faith" by neighborhood residents, was the last member of the family to reside on the property. Mattie died in 1961 and we have endeavored to remember her just a little bit more with the naming of this new chapter in Reynoldstown history. "Branch" simply put is pretty word. It also references the new sprout street off of Wilbur Avenue we've designed as well as a look forward to the trees that will grow and bloom here
The townhomes are scheduled for completion in Summer 2018. Get in touch for more information through the contact form.
